Grand Place
How not to mention this wonderful square, surrounded by the Old Stock Exchange, the Théâtre du Nord and the bookshop Foret du Nord. Along with the Place du Théâtre, where the Opéra de Lille and the Chamber of Commerce are located, the Grand Place is a central spot. I started wandering around the city from here, in heels of course!
Old Town Lille
Here I felt Flanders vibes all around, given off by the quietness, the colors and the atmosphere I got from the city. The proximity to Belgium can definitely be heard! From here I reached Place aux Oignons, a small street with colorful Instagrammable houses, and the beautiful Notre Dame Cathedral. A tip? Walk among the many streets and enjoy your stroll making a pit stop in the many shops of the city.
Quai du Wault
If you are headed to the Citadel of Lille, you necessarily have to take a relaxing break in this small glimpse of the French city! Some advice before your visit: buy a delicious Cramique au Chocolat from Aux Merveilleux de Fred or from Boulangerie Brier. I will never stop suggesting to taste this yummy sweet bread inside my posts!
